Start out your morning with a sunny pancake breakfast at home, created in our gourmet kitchen. Plan your day as you finish the last sip of coffee, while the morning sun streaming through the windows beckons you to come out and play!
Take advantage of the morning low tide to make the short jaunt around the corner to Hug Point State Park, where you will discover cliff caves, tidepools, eagles soaring overhead, and a waterfall that flows out onto the beach. If the tide is low enough, you can traipse over the historic road cut into the cliff (watching out for living creatures on it!) and explore the beach beyond.
If it's a Tuesday, be sure to leave a bit of time in your afternoon for a stroll through the Cannon Beach Farmers Market! Local vendors come together to offer fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, flowers, nuts, sea salt, and so much more at this special summer event.
Pick your afternoon hike from a variety of local hikes, whether it's a slow stroll to Ecola Point or Short Sands Beach or an old-growth traipse up to Neahkahnie Mountain or the overlook at Falcon Cove. Be sure to check the weather for the day as you make your plans!
After you've cleaned up, head into town for an ice cream cone or cup of coffee and a tour of the local art galleries. As you browse, keep a lookout for the artists that we feature in our homes! Eat an early dinner at one of the local restaurants, so you can be sure to make it to the beach for sunset.
The grand finale of the day should be stargazing, whether it's done in front of Haystack Rock, down on the Arch Cape Beach or right from the back deck. Low city lights, fresh air and dark skies let the beauty of the stars shine spectacularly on the Oregon coast. Stay for a while to give your eyes time to adjust, and then start looking for your favorite constellations.
