Business name & location:

Heritage Vacation Homes, a collection of homes found in the Arch Cape neighborhood.

How long have you been in business?

We started our business in the fall of 2014, with the purchase of The House at Arch Cape.

What is your business’s history… we’d love to hear the story!

We are a father/daughter team (Dennis + Lara) who own and manage a small collection of vacation rental homes located on the Oregon coast and more recently the island of Maui. It all started in 2014 when we toured a house for sale on the Oregon coast on a whim and the idea of creating a full-time vacation rental was born. This first house is now The House at Arch Cape. Since then, we have slowly added a couple more homes in the Arch Cape area to our rental collection, as well as a condo on the southwest end of Maui.  Lara quit her job to manage the business, now working with our guests to reserve the perfect home for their group and working with our teams on the ground to create the best experience possible for our guests. We love helping visitors explore these areas that we have fallen in love with!

What brought you to Cannon Beach and why do you love being a part of this town?

Dennis would visit the town of Cannon Beach during his college years and dreamed of the day he could own a house there. When Lara was little, a lot of family reunions were planned around beach camp outs in the area. The small town charm combined with the incredible beauty found not only in Cannon Beach itself but also in the beaches and coves of the surrounding area are something both of them have fallen in love with over the years. They enjoy hiking together and early morning razor clam digs, as well as browsing the local art galleries and experiencing the food local chefs create.

What does your business focus on that makes it unique?

Because we are a small business with only a handful of vacation rental homes, the personal touch is absolutely what sets us apart! Our cell phones are always on. Not only is our communication intentional, but we are able to be aware of every aspect of each house at all times, addressing needs as they arise and being proactive to maintain the high standard of amenities we have set for ourselves.

What is the one must-do thing for a person’s first time in Cannon Beach?

You must see the lookout at Ecola Point and then hike from there to Indian Beach!
